Hello all - I'm Kate the costume designer. Thought I'd post a sketch or two and some research. Costumes are looking to be whimsical yet dark... which I always try to include in my designs... doesn't always seem to work though, hmm.... but goes perfectly with Elephant in the Room!
This is a sketch for the mother. Post-death and post-pig slaughtering. Isn't she cute. The Mother is played by Suzy Fay.
Also including research of an art installation by Kienholz. I've discovered his/her (Edward often collaborated with his
wife Nancy but I am not sure if he did on this piece) work by researching for Elephant and very happy to have done so, it is really incredible. Anyway, this research is for Les, played by Chris Geary, who will be dripping in kitchenware. Think those jars around the neck along with some cutting boards, kitchen utensils, spices, etc. etc.
